  1. Study knowledge areas from the six study notes
  2. Chapter tests for each knowledge area
  3. Self evaluation through simulated practice tests
  4. Now you are ready to appear for the SPHR/PHR certification exams

We, at HRCIstudy.com, recommend that the test taker ideally adheres to the following study process:

  1. Read a specific knowledge area from the six functional areas prescribed for study.
  2. For that knowledge area, read the comprehensive study guides .
  3. Take the chapter tests for that knowledge area. Every chapter test contains questions that improve the understanding of the concepts embodied in that particular knowledge area.
  4. Repeat the study cycle from 1 to 3 for all knowledge areas.
  5. Once you complete the cycle for all the knowledge areas, make a self assessment of the degree of your understanding of the knowledge areas. This is done by means of answering the four full length simulated practice tests. Each test comprises 225 questions to be answered in 4 hours. These tests are designed to take you closest to the actual SPHR/PHR exam environment, both in format and type of questions.
  6. We recommend that you practice till you get at least 85% correct answers in the 4 simulated practice tests on all knowledge areas.

  7. Now you are ready and prepared for the final SPHR/PHR exam.

About SPHR/PHR Exam

All the areas of the human resources body of knowledge that are tested in the certification exam are covered with course modules, prepared by experts, comprising the best and the latest in HR theory and practice.  Questions in SPHR certification exam are based on six knowledge areas prescribed by HRCI.

The breakdown is as follows:

  1. Strategic Management: 29%
  2. Workforce Planning and Employment: 17%
  3. Human Resources Development: 17%
  4. Total Rewards: 12%
  5. Employee and Labor Relations: 18%
  6. Risk Management: 7%

SPHR exam has questions focused mainly on strategic and policy levels.

Questions in PHR certification exam are based on six knowledge areas prescribed by HRCI.

The breakdown is as follows:

  2. Workforce Planning and Employment : 26%
  3. Human Resources Development: 17%
  4. Total Rewards: 16%
  5. Employee and Labor Relations: 22%
  6. Risk Management: 7%

PHR exam has questions focused mainly on technical and operational levels.

SPHR/PHR exam consists of 225 questions. Of these questions, 200 are scored, and 25 are dummy questions. The dummy questions are designed to be used for framing questions for the future exams. Each question has four options, and the correct or best option has to be chosen. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. The pass mark is 500 out of 700.
